High blood pressure is one of the major health problems of the 21st Century. It is estimated that 16 million people in the UK suffer from high blood pressure, and almost 5 million are unaware and undiagnosed. Many lifestyle factors- such as stress, obesity , excessive use of stimulants, smoking, or a high sodium intake- contribute to increased blood pressure.
The Centers for Disease Control estimate that more than 90% of middle aged people will develop high blood pressure at some point in their lifetime.
